Your Youth Group can make a difference THIS summer!
(and the preparation is a breeze!)
It is not too late to get your group involved in doing meaningful mission projects for this summer. It might be too late for you to personally plan a complete trip from scratch, but that is where Confrontation Point Ministries comes in.
The planning for any mission trip can be overwhelming, but Confrontation Point has been planning, organizing and running mission trips for close to 30 years! We make it easy. We have figured out how to prepare efficiently and well! When you sign up for a mission trip with us we get started immediately. For example:
- The first thing we do is send you our Group Preparation Manual in the mail (we can even email it if you need it immediately). The manual is jammed with all kinds of information that you will need to prepare for your mission trip. It doesn't speak in generalities, but is very specific and concrete about the exact things that you need to do to prepare for an amazing trip. It includes ideas for fundraising and how to get the whole church behind your mission trip.
- We find out what level of a construction worksite that
you are interested in. We need this information in order
to match you with the huge file of projects that need to be
done here in the Appalachian Region.
- These projects are visited, plans are drawn up, and dates
for the project are determined. Once we know what types
of projects to prepare our staff visit each worksite to determine
its suitability. We make plans for the work and draw up the
materials list. We also take photos of the future worksite-which
are sent to you so that you know better how to prepare your
group for the project.
- We send you a specific list of tools that you need.
You will need to bring the tools necessary for the project,
but you won't need to bring a bunch of "extra" or "general"
tools.
- We get the campsites prepared and waiting. We have
the tents that you guys will be using and we have the campsites
already picked out and prepared for your group. (all you need
to bring is a sleeping bag and a ground pad)
- The menu is planned and the food is bought. You will
be taken care of with meals that are healthy and taste good.
We provide all of the cooking gear (stoves, pots, pans, utensils,
etc.) but everyone in the group helps prepare the meals.
- We train our staff to oversee the experience. We hire
and train college age staff who will be staying with your group
to oversee all of the logistics of the experience. These guys
will be dealing with the hassles associated with work materials,
food supplies, and making sure that everyone has functional
directions. (They also have first aid training and know where
all the emergency services are located)
Our trips are not for every youth group! These trips are designed for youth groups that are ready and willing to be stretched! This mission stuff is the real deal. It is hard work and can be uncomfortable. If you are thinking that we run a trip to Disney Land, you will be disappointed.
For those youth groups that want all of the pre-trip preparation
to be almost completely done Confrontation Point has three other
programs. These programs do not require any tools to be collected
or brought (like in the Home
Repair program mentioned above), they simply require your
group to show up! The preparation has already been done beforehand
by OUR staff:
- Our "Mystery Trip" is a missions trip with a hodge-podge of different urban service activities that arise spontaneously throughout the week. You will not know the activity for the day until you figure it out by solving riddles, puzzles or clues. These activities get your group working together as a team and helping others in need.
- In our "Wilderness Adventure program" your group is challenged as a group to work together as a team and to stretch each individuals "comfort zones." We enjoy backpacking, rock climbing and rappelling, cave exploring, canoeing and white water rafting.
- In our "Creation Restoration program" your group is taught principles for caring for our environment in the 21st Century. In addition to enjoying nature through camping in it, your group will help to restore areas to a more pristine state. You will also have the option of rock climbing and rappelling, cave exploring, canoeing and white water rafting.
Time is growing short! Many of our programs are filled up (check
availablility here). There are
still a few weeks that are available, and there is still plenty
of time to make one of these trips happen this summer.
You might think that this type of a trip (with most of the preparation
already done) would be expensive. In fact, these trips are very
reasonable!
We work with you to make sure your preparation is as easy as
possible, and to make the trip as enjoyable as possible! Contact

of these trips. You can call us at (800) 884-8483 or you can apply
